General Rules
Dress code
General rules at school: Students can wear school uniforms, PE uniforms or clothing approved by the school (classroom uniform, club uniform or the uniform for students entered in the same year). Students of the same class are required to wear the same outfit. Students are allowed to wear their own clothes and carry identification cards for verification on Fridays. Students violating dress code will be instructed in a generally acceptable way.
- School Wear Rules:
- Uniform – Formal uniform specified by the school.
- PE uniform – PE top and bottom wear specified by the school.
- Classroom uniform, club uniform or the uniform for students entered in the same year – Must pair with uniform or PE pants.
- Home clothing – Clothing can not show inappropriate language, images or words reflecting para-political issues, violate good morals or reflect gender inequality in order to avoid disputes.
- Pairing:
- Formal uniform can be appropriately paired with PE uniform or clothing approved by the school.
- The homeroom teacher always decides the class outfit for major events (flag-raising ceremony, opening ceremony, commencement, school anniversary, closing ceremony, international or interschool activities, etc.). Students can only wear formal uniform, PE uniform or other clothing suitable for these events.
- Warm clothes shall be worn under the uniform jacket. Coat, hoodie, sweater, scarf, gloves and hat are only allowed to cover clothing approved by the school for low temperature forecast or cold current.
- Only stud and clip-on earrings are allowed on school grounds for safety reason. Students shall avoid to wear earrings that dangle.
- Shoes Rules:
Sport shoes, leisure shoes and leather shoes in all kinds of colors or styles are acceptable. Students can wear slippers or sandals during arrival and dismissal times to avoid soaked shoes in the case of heavy rain. Slippers and sandals are not allowed under any other circumstances except for reasonable causes (injury or disease with a medical certificate from the health center, clinic or hospital).
Temporary Leaving Rules
- A student is required to obtain approval from the homeroom teacher and the military instructor for leaving the school.
- If a student leaves the school for official affairs, the responsible section is required to provide supporting documents and complete the leave procedure at Military Instruction Office.
- The nurse shall examine the student who is suddenly unwell and the approval from the parent and the homeroom teacher (or the instructor at the moment) if the student needs to leave the school. After obtaining approval, the student may complete the leave procedure at Military Instruction Office to apply for Temporary Leave Form. The student can be picked up by the parent or go home by him- or herself.
- If a student needs to leave the school for a special reason and the parent fails to provide proof in person, the parent is required to provide supporting documents or contact the school by phone to allow the student to leave the school.
- A student who wants to leave at noon is required to complete the leave procedure before noon. No disturbances shall be caused during lunch break. The student shall return to the school before the afternoon session begins.
- The leave procedure shall be completed for leaving the school during school time. The leave shall be taken formally later according to the leave rules.
- A group of students is required to fill out the form to apply for leaving the school in advance. They can leave the school after the dean of student affairs approve the application.
- Disciplinary actions will be taken against any student or group of students who leaves the school without completing the leave procedure on a case-by-case basis according to Student Reward and Discipline Regulations.
Traffic Safety Rules
- Walking:
- Follow road safety rules and the guidance of military instructors and the traffic service team while coming to and leaving the school on foot.
- Look for traffic lights and walk across the road at the marked crosswalk.
- Do not walk across the road in front of the main or side gate. Please follow the guidance of military instructors and the traffic service team to walk across the road to prevent accidents.
- By bike:
- Do not ride a bike with another student or ride side by side.
- Follow the speed limit and maintain a safe following distance.
- Stay on the right side of the slow-moving vehicle lane. Do not ride against traffic or on a sidewalk.
- Slow down to pass through the front or side gate while entering and leaving the school.
- Wear a certified bike helmet for safety.
- Students Commuting to School:
- Follow the military instructor or student patrol’s guidance and order at any location or station.
- Do not leave trash on the bus and put recyclable items into the corresponding recycling bins.
- Follow the driver and station staff’s guidance to keep public transportation clean and in order.
- By Scooter (including electric bike):
- Do not ride a scooter without a scooter license. A student without a scooter license is not allowed to ride with another person or borrow a scooter.
- Apply to Military Instruction Office for the pass sticker which shall be placed on the specified space of the scooter.
- A rider and passenger are both required to wear helmets with parental consent forms signed.
- Unregistered scooters are not allowed on school grounds.
- All scooter license plates shall be checked before entry.
- Park scooters in the designated parking space.
- Slow down upon entering the school. (Speed limit: 20 km)
- Application Requirements for Scooters (including electric bikes):
- Submit the following documents to Military Instruction Office:
- Scooter Pass Application
- Scooter registration certificate and a copy of the applicant’s scooter license
- A copy of compulsory scooter liability insurance (a clear photo of the copy for electric bike)
- Parental Consent Form
- After the documents are reviewed and approved by Military Instruction Office, the pass will be issued for the applicant to stick it to a conspicuous spot next to the headlight for access control.
- Submit the following documents to Military Instruction Office:
Parking Rules (for scooters, electric bikes and bikes)
- Apply to the unit in charge for the use of parking spaces by the deadline.
- Park and lock your scooter/electric bike/bike within the designated space during the time specified.
